Cookies

Two cookies, both necessary, no analytics and no third parties — which is why there is no banner.

Draft. This describes what the software actually does and what we intend to be bound by, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer in any jurisdiction. Read it as a statement of practice rather than a reviewed agreement, and raise anything that matters to you before you rely on it.

Why there is no cookie banner

Consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary. We do not set any. There is no analytics on this site, no advertising pixel, no session recorder and no third-party script of any kind — the content security policy blocks external origins outright, so one could not be added quietly.

A banner asking permission for nothing would be theatre, and would train people to dismiss the ones that matter.

What we do set

NamePurposeLifetime
Session cookieKeeps you signed in. Set only after you sign in. HTTP-only, secure, same-site — it cannot be read by script.Until sign-out or expiry
chaching_themeRemembers a deliberate switch to the light theme, so the page does not flash the wrong one before it loads. Set only if you change it.One year

Local storage

The product also uses your browser's own storage for two conveniences: when you last looked at your notifications, and whether you have muted the notification sound. Both stay on your device. Neither reaches us.

Turning them off

You can clear or block them in your browser. Blocking the session cookie means you cannot stay signed in, because that cookie is how being signed in is represented.
